How Does Tend Skin Liquid Work?
Problem: Unwanted Hair
Waxing, electrolysis or laser hair removal are all “surgical” procedures; tissue is “torn” or “burned” during these treatments. Tweezing tears and damages the follicles and can increase the formation of ingrown hairs. Raw tissue is subject to stinging when almost anything contacts it. This action irritates and thus "inflames" the skin surface which increases the tendency for ingrown hairs to form.
Removal Effects: Root Causes
In theory, frequent shaving to cut emerging hairs closer to the skin surface should eliminate ingrown hairs by regularly removing the hairs before they grow and re-enter the skin.
In practice, shaving frequently enough and close enough to skin level to avoid the condition is difficult. For example, sometimes the skin gets stretched when attempting to get a closer shave, which actually results in the cutting of the hairs below the skin level.
Skin with Melanin: Tightly Curled Hair

In affected individuals, hairs curl before they exit the follicle and grow under the epidermis, which subsequently induces focal areas of inflammation.

This results in an intra-follicular ingrown hair in which the sharp tip of the curved hair, instead of emerging from the follicle, penetrates the follicle wall to bring about the same or similar foreign body reaction as would occur when a hair normally emerges from the follicle but then re-enters the skin. This is a condition known as Pseudofolliculitis barbae or razor bumps.
